On Saturday October 27, Duet's prima company dancer's performed at support on the square in downtown Cartersville for Duet's first live performance! This was the 4th annual support on the square which is an event held to help raise money for the Dancers Against Cancer foundation. There are vendors, food, dancing, and raffle items. Dance studios from Cedartown, Cartersville, Marietta, Kennesaw, and Canton came to dance at this event and to help raise raise money. All of the proceeds from the event went to the Dancers Against Cancer foundation.
What is the Dancers Against Cancer foundation?
Dancers Against Cancer (DAC) is a foundation that is dedicated to using the art of dance to make a real change within all communities. It was founded in 2007 by Jody Isenhour. They support cancer patients in many different ways from helping to pay medical bills to directing families of cancer patients to support groups. All proceeds from the benefit dance concerts and other DAC events are given back to the communities in which the events are held. DAC is proud that they are able to help give back and in the process show dancers how they can use their art to help make a real difference.
