Competition Company 2026 - 2027

Duet Dance Company serves as Duet Dance Academy’s program for our most talented dancers who would like to take their dance training to the next level. The Company is divided into four levels to group dancers with similar levels of technique and experience.  Company members train 5 to 9 hours per week in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, and other optional styles of dance to develop skilled technique, advanced movement, and superb performance quality. These dancers attend regional competitions, conventions, and other performance opportunities where they represent Duet Dance Academy. They are expected to be well-rounded, poised, extremely focused, and to give the commitment expected of Company Members.

  • Company members must attend all competitions and conventions.  This will include three dance competitions and three conventions.

  • Company members must attend a Summer Intensive where they will train in technique and learn choreography for the upcoming dance season. Guest teachers and choreographers will be brought in house to work with each group.  They must also attend a choreography workshop to begin working on their full company production number.

  • Company members must remain enrolled in all required Company classes throughout the year.

  • Company members MUST attend all rehearsals for and participate in our annual Nutcracker performance (select weekend days throughout the fall)

  • Company members MUST attend all rehearsals/tech rehearsals the week of our annual recital.

  • Company members are expected to be present, physically and mentally, for all classes.  Company members are allowed three (3) excused absences each semester (half of the dance year).  Missing company classes for homework or other activities is not acceptable.
