2023-2024 Dress Code

We request that students carefully observe our dress code as outlined below for each class:

 

Appropriate dance wear is required for all classes. No jewelry with the exception of stud earrings allowed. If a student is not dressed appropriately they will be asked to sit and watch class.

 

Pre-K Ballet/Tap

Any colored leotard, ballet pink tights (tutus and ballet skirts are okay).  Pink leather ballet slippers and black tap shoes required where applicable.  Hair must be in a bun.  Boys must wear black pants, a solid colored t-shirt, and black ballet slippers.

Pre-K Jazz/Acro

Any colored leotard, jazz pants or jazz shorts and/or tan tights. Jazz requires tan jazz shoes. Bare feet for Acro.  Hair must be pulled back and away from face.  Boys must wear black pants, a solid color t-shirt and black jazz shoes.

Mini & Junior Ballet/Tap

Any colored leotard, ballet pink tights (tutus, ballet skirts, and black jazz shorts are okay).  Pink leather ballet slippers and black tap shoes required.  Hair must be in a bun.  Boys must wear black pants, a solid colored t-shirt, and black ballet slippers.

 

Mini & Junior Jazz/Lyrical

Any color leotard, jazz pants or jazz shorts and/or tan tights. Jazz requires tan jazz shoes. Bare feet for lyrical.  Hair must be pulled back and away from face.  Boys must wear black pants, a solid color t-shirt and black jazz shoes.

 

Hip Hop (All Levels)

Comfortable but fitted clothing.  Tank top, leotard, jazz pants, sweatpants, and jazz shorts are all acceptable.  Tennis shoes required for hip hop (specific hip hop shoes will be determined by teacher for recital).

Teen Ballet

Any color leotard with pink tights (ballet skirts and black dance shorts or leggings are okay).  Canvas pink ballet shoes are required.  Hair must be in a bun or pulled back and away from face. Boys must wear black pants, a solid color t-shirt and black ballet shoes.

 

Teen, Jazz, Contemporary, or Tap

Any color leotard, jazz pants or jazz shorts and/or tan tights. Jazz requires tan jazz shoes. Bare feet for contemporary.  Black lace-up tap shoes required for tap. Hair must be pulled back and away from face.  Boys must wear black pants, a solid color t-shirt and black jazz or tap shoes.

 

Acrobatics (All Levels)

Comfortable but fitted clothing that does not restrict movement.  For example, any color leotard or tight fitted shirt with jazz shorts for girls, or a fitted t-shirt and shorts for boys.  No shoes required.

 

Shoes & Tights

Recommended shoes for grades Pre-K, Mini, & Junior Classes - Bloch S0205G Pink Ballet Shoes, Bloch or So Danca slip on Tan/Caramel Jazz Shoes, Bloch S0352 Black Tap Shoes

Required tights for grades Pre-K, Mini, & Junior classes – Any brand pink tights for ballet classes; any brand tan/caramel tights for jazz and tap

*Students may wear any brand tights for class.

Recommended shoes for Teen Classes - Any brand canvas ballet shoes, Bloch or So Danca slip on Tan/Caramel Jazz Shoes, any brand black lace-up Tap shoes.

Required tights for Teen Classes – Any brand pink tights for ballet classes; any brand tan/caramel tights for jazz and tap

*Students may wear any brand tights for class.

Company Pointe & Pre Pointe

Any color leotard, pink tights. Prodigy may wear skirts and solid black jazz shorts. Prima & Principal may wear skirts, flowy shorts, or jazz shorts. Canvas pink ballet shoes.  Hair in a CLEAN bun.

Company Ballet

Company leotard, pink tights.  Petite & Premier - No additional clothing permitted.  Prodigy may wear skirts and solid black jazz shorts. Prima & Principal may wear skirts, flowy shorts, or jazz shorts. Properly sewn pointe shoes or canvas pink ballet shoes.  Hair in a CLEAN bun.

 

Company Jazz/Contemporary/Tap/Choreography

Comfortable but tight fitted clothing that shows the body for placement.  For example, any color leotard or tight-fitting shirt/tank top with leggings or jazz shorts.  Hair in a pony tail or bun.  Appropriate shoes required. 

 

Company Shoes & Tights

Required shoes for Company Dancers

 

Ballet                  Any brand canvas ballet shoes (prefer So Danca)

Tap                     Bloch S0313L Jason Samuel Smith Black lace up tap shoes (required once feet stop growing)
