Duet Dance PERFORMANCE TEAM

DUETTES & JUNIOR DUETTES

Duet Dance Performance Team serves as Duet Dance Academy’s program for our Elementary (3rd through 5th grade) and Teen (Middle and High School) recreational dancers who would like to take their dance training to the next level and enjoy more performance opportunities.  The Performance Team is two groups dancers divided by age/grade:

• Junior Duettes for grades 3rd through 5th Grade

• Duettes for Middle and High School dancers

Performance Team members train 2 hours per week with a 1 hour Performance Team Choreography Class and a 1 hour Technique Class to develop skilled technique, advanced movement, and excellent performance quality. These dancers attend regional local festivals, parades, and other community events to represent the studio and show off their skills. They are expected to be well-rounded, poised, extremely focused, and to give the commitment expected of Performance Team Members.

Performance Team Members must:

• Be enrolled in and attend all mandatory Performance Team classes for the dance year (August through May);

• For Junior Duettes be enrolled in a Junior Ballet/Tap, or Junior Jazz/Lyrical technique class at Duet and attend that class weekly;

• For Duettes be enrolled in a Teen Ballet, Teen Contemporary, or Teen Jazz technique class at Duet and attend that class weekly;

• Attend ALL Performance Team scheduled events and ALL Performance Team regular and extra rehearsals;

• participate in all Performance Team parade, festival, other performances;

• participate in the Jazz on Tap regional festival;

• participate in the year-end recital;

• Performance Team members MUST attend all rehearsals/tech rehearsals the week of our annual recital.  

• Performance Team members are expected to be present, physically and mentally, for all classes. They are allowed three (3) excused absences each semester (half of the dance year).

Performance Team Cost - $132.50 per month August through May.  Fee includes tuition, Performance Team Fee, and Costume Fee

*tuition, costume, and recreational fee for mandatory technique class is a separate additional cost
